Making a deodorant from Aluminum

Aluminum waste can be processed into material alias deodorant body odor remover. As created student of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT-UB) Malang,

East Java. This new experience they name it Aluminum Cans Antiperspirant Deodorant (ALCANDEON).

With these findings, they won an international award in the event the 2nd International Art Creativity and Engineering Exhibition.

Process manufactory of this product has been developed over two months in the Laboratory of Chemical Engineering Science UB TSB is done by extracting the aluminum waste with potassium

hydroxide (KOH), after reacted with sulfuric acid (H2SO4) which will produce potassium aluminum sulfate, or alum.

"The advantage of these products contain elements guns chlorine (CI), which can cause skin irritation," said the student. Aluminum also serves shrink the pores of the skin to not sweat (antiperspirant).

From the test results of products also showed the degree of acidity of the skin (PH) reached 3.9 or according with human skin condition.
